Solve Intelligence's NetDocuments integration lets patent attorneys import matter documents into their project and export finished work back to NetDocuments, without downloading and re-uploading files. A separate, read-only AI connection also lets attorneys search NetDocuments content from chat, with administrator enablement required. The integration is free for Solve customers.
Drafting, prosecution and claim charts sit alongside invention harvesting in Solve Intelligence’s single AI workspace for patent professionals. The NetDocuments integration brings that workspace closer to where client and matter documents already live.
A patent matter draws on more than the document being drafted or reviewed. Attorneys need to decide which materials are relevant, often working through lengthy invention disclosures, earlier applications, prosecution correspondence and supporting technical documents. Bringing those files into an AI-assisted patent workflow saves time and helps attorneys focus on the work itself.
NetDocuments is a cloud-based document management system trusted by over 7,000 law firms, corporate legal departments and public sector organizations worldwide.
From within Solve Intelligence, attorneys can open the NetDocuments file picker and select the files they need, including multiple documents at once. Those files can then be used within the project for drafting, prosecution, claim charting, legal research or portfolio analysis.
An attorney preparing a new application can bring in the invention disclosure, related filings and client specifications. A colleague responding to an office action can assemble earlier responses and supporting technical documents. In each case, the attorney selects the materials that should inform the work, without downloading and re-uploading them through a local machine.
When the NetDocuments AI connection is enabled, attorneys can select NetDocuments as a source and ask Solve Intelligence to search for documents and read their text. This provides another way to locate relevant material while working in Solve Intelligence.
The AI connection is read-only and uses the attorney's authenticated NetDocuments account. It is separate from file import and export, and requires an eligible NetDocuments subscription and administrator enablement.
When a document is ready, attorneys can export it directly from Solve Intelligence to NetDocuments as a DOCX or PDF. They choose the destination and can save a new file or create a new version of an existing document. Multiple files can also be exported together.
The result is a straightforward path from source materials to reviewed work: bring the relevant documents into Solve Intelligence, use them in the patent workflow, and return the completed documents to the appropriate NetDocuments location. Transfers are initiated by the user, who decides which files to bring in and where completed work is saved.
The NetDocuments integration is available to Solve Intelligence customers at no additional cost.
To enable this connection, organization admins can go to “Settings” in the lower left hand corner of their account. Then, on the left-hand side navigation pane, click “Connectors.” Admins can choose to enable NetDocs as both an external tool and for external storage. If you have any questions, contact your account manager or email partnerships@solveintelligence.com.
